Learning About Careers!
The 2009-2010 school year is off to a great start. It is so important to expose students to the wide variety of careers and post secondary options that are available them.
We started the year off by taking our future certified public accountants to Quinnipiac University to the nnual CPA Career Conference for High School Students sponsored by the CT Society of CPA's. The students were able to tour the campus and then participate in three seminars about accounting.
In November, Ms. Manousos' art students at NHS visited Aldrich Museum in Ridgefield, CT to learn about art careers and Ms. Metwally's Honors and AP French students from BMHS participated in the Early College Experience French Quiz Bowl where they took 2nd place! STC also brought students to the Baran Institute of Technology. This post secondary school visit allowed students to learn about their programs in: automotive, autobody, diesel mechanics, motorcycle technology, electrical, HVAC, and welding.
